Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a lab-made stand-in for GHRH. Egrifta is an FDA-approved product for a specific HIV-related fat-distribution use. Research-market tesamorelin vials are not that product. Listed seller sizes here are 5 mg and 10 mg. Keep Egrifta separate.

What is Tesamorelin?

Approved-product evidence applies to that use only. Putting the tesamorelin name on a research vial does not extend Egrifta’s approval to general body-composition wellness. The catalog keeps those identities separate.

Growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analogue.

Regulatory status, dated 2026-10-09

FDA product approval

approved product. Egrifta WR, for its labeled HIV-associated indication.

Compounding

not established. Compounded products do not carry FDA product approval; legal eligibility is not established here.

Research

product specific. Adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy and excess abdominal fat; not general weight loss.

Sport

prohibited. WADA S2 lists this GHRH analogue.

What the cited papers actually measured

Falutz et al. (PMID 20554713) and the Egrifta label describe belly-fat changes in the studied HIV group on the approved product. Injection-site reactions and blood-sugar changes appear in label materials. Those facts do not create a general fat-loss use. They do not validate a 5 mg research vial. A Friday log that copies the Egrifta carton onto a research listing is mixing two products that this card keeps apart.

We mark the cited papers as A. That is our label for how strong those papers are. It does not say the compound works.

How long it lasts, how you store it, listed sizes

0.18333333333333332 hours. About eleven minutes for the labeled Egrifta WR formulation in healthy subjects; formulations differ.

Egrifta has carton storage. Research vials have whatever the seller printed. This chart uses 5 mg and 10 mg listings from the vendor file only.

U-100 math for listed Tesamorelin sizes. Each cell is micrograms per syringe mark if you add that much liquid. The table does the same math as the calculator. It does not pick an amount for you.

Risks and mix-ups already on the record

  • Elevated IGF-1, glucose intolerance and fluid retention are label warnings.
  • Active malignancy and pregnancy are among labeled contraindications.
  • Growth-hormone effects may change clearance of drugs metabolized by CYP450; the label advises monitoring concomitant medicines.
  • Patients receiving glucocorticoid replacement may require clinician review.

Questions people ask

Is tesamorelin approved for general fat loss?

The cited approval is for Egrifta and HIV-related lipodystrophy. This page does not extend that use.

Why show a calculator if the approved product is a branded kit?

People also hold research-market vials and ask for unit math. The calculator never copies the Egrifta schedule.
